Tetra Tech secures planning permission for new homes in Hampshire

New homes are officially approved for delivery in Alton, Hampshire. We are excited to have secured planning permission for 242 houses following extensive work to secure a local plan allocation and outline consent on site over the past several years.

The scheme, secured on behalf of Harvington Properties, forms part of a wider scheme for west Alton that will deliver important new infrastructure, including a replacement railway bridge and funding for local leisure centre improvements, and school expansion.

Nick Billington, Principal Planner at Tetra Tech, said: “This project demonstrated the tangible benefits of collaboration with the local authority, councillors, and residents. We owe our thanks to the whole project team that worked hard to secure these fantastic results, and we’re very pleased to have played a part in delivering much-needed new homes to fight the housing crisis.”

Our team handled site identification, allocation, outline permission, and reserved matters permission. By working closely with East Hampshire’s officers and local community, the team was able to overcome several challenges, including steep topography and a high local parking standard. Several local councillors complemented our team for their proactive engagement with the community and their willingness to listen to local concerns.

We look forward to seeing the scheme’s progress throughout the coming months.
