Service family accommodation at Salisbury Plain sees major milestone

Tetra Tech’s project with the Ministry of Defence to relocate service families across Salisbury Plain has seen a major milestone. The Defence Infrastructure Organisation received the first tranche of houses in Bulford on 5th December.

The properties fall under the wider Army Basing Programme to accommodate Army personnel from Germany and within the UK with 917 houses across Ludgershall, Bulford, and Larkhill. Project completion of all houses is now scheduled for May 2020.

To help deliver these houses, our team is providing technical support and associated highways services, in addition to acting as the Purchaser Representative under a contract with housing developer Lovell.

James Simonds, Associate Director, who handed the official milestone completion certificate to Lovell on 5th December, said: “Our goal is to continue providing our assurances to the DIO that these houses are being built to the high standard expected. The team at Lovell has impressed us with the efficiency and quality of their work, delivering eight to twelve houses a week on each site to meet the deadline for rebasing troops across the Salisbury Plain area.”

The first properties in Ludgershall are set to be handed over to the DIO in January 2019.
